The new Mercedes T

"The most versatile manner of Mercedes motoring"

At this years International Motor Show in Frankfurt in September, Daimler-Benz will launch a new car range whose production will start next year in spring.  Already at ths point, we should like to inform you about this extension to our car range.

The Mercedes T will be offered in five versions.

Diesel models

240TD four-cyl. 2.4 litre OM 616 diesel engine

300TD five-cyl.     3 litre OM 617 diesel engine

Petrol models

230T     4-cyl. M 115 petrol engine   (2.3 L carburettor)

250T     6-cyl. M 123 petrol engine   (2.5 L carburettor)

280TE   6-cyl. M 110 petrol engine   (2.8 L petrol injection)

The T models were developed from the W 123 range.  Their model designation indicates the versatility of these new models.

The "T", which is the common denominator for the five cars which differ a lot as regards engines and equipment, stands for "touring" and "transport".  It is this all-round versatility, in particular, which is the most important point in advertising and classification..........
